ACE Equipment Rentals supports landscape contractors, lawn care companies, hardscape installers, and grounds maintenance crews across the Quad Cities. From spring aeration season through summer install projects and fall cleanup, our lawn & landscape fleet, attachments, and compact equipment keep your crews productive without forcing you to tie up capital in machines you only need for a few weeks each year.
Based in Bettendorf, Iowa at 3466 State Street, we stock equipment selected specifically with landscape professionals in mind — the brands and models you already trust, maintained to a standard that means they show up to your site ready to work. Open Monday–Friday 7 AM–4 PM. Reach us at (563) 271-4732 or hello@rentaceqc.com.
Spring season fills our lot with crews picking up aerators, overseeders, and dethatchers for back-to-back lawn renovation jobs. Summer brings hardscape installers grabbing mini skid steers, augers, and plate compactors for paver patios, retaining walls, and outdoor kitchens. Tree and shrub installation crews lean on our augers and skid steers. Fall sees a steady stream of sod cutters, stump grinders, and dump trailers for redo projects and end-of-season cleanups. And year-round, drainage projects pull our trenchers, vacuum excavators, and compactors.
If you are running a route-based lawn-care business, our equipment fills the gap between your daily maintenance gear and the specialty machines you only need for renovation projects. If you are a hardscape installer, we are the cost-effective alternative to owning every size of mini skid and trencher on the market.
Stand-On Mini Skid Steers. The biggest workhorse in modern landscape installation. Our mini skid steer lineup includes the Ditch Witch CTX50, SK900, the SK900 with weight kit for more bucket capacity, the SK1000, the SK1550, and our largest SK3000. They fit through 36-inch gates, leave minimal turf damage, and accept most of the attachments your crews already use.
Aerators and Overseeders. Spring renovation rentals run nonstop. Our Commercial Z Turf Ride-On Aerator is a ride-on commercial unit that produces fast core aeration for residential and athletic-field projects. For lawn renovation jobs that include topdressing and overseeding, the Ecolawn 250 self-propelled compost spreader cuts the time in half. Pair with the Turfco Sod Cutter for full-renovation projects where old turf has to come out first.
Stump Removal. The Vermeer SC30TX tracked stump grinder is the industry standard for residential and small-commercial stump removal. The tracked carriage means minimal turf damage on the way in and out.
Trenchers and Irrigation Work. Drainage runs, irrigation mainlines, and low-voltage lighting circuits all benefit from a clean trench. The Ditch Witch C24x walk-behind trencher cuts to 3 ft and handles tight residential properties where bigger ride-on trenchers cannot maneuver.
Post Hole Augers. Fence posts, deck footings, mailbox posts, sign posts. The 1-Man Ground Hog auger handles easy soil and small jobs solo. The 2-Man auger brings extra power for rocky or compacted ground. For long fence projects, the tow-behind auger attaches to a truck or tractor and runs all day.
Attachments for Hardscape and Grading. The 72-inch Harley Rake preps a finished grade better than anything else in the fleet — landscape installers use it for prepping lawn install, paver base, and seedbed. The Full Size Skid Auger drills tree holes and footings fast. The Grapple Bucket hauls brush, debris, and large material. The Rotary Cutter/Brush Hog clears tall grass and lot prep before install.
Mowing and Tilling. Need to clean up a residential lot or commercial property? The Zero Turn Mower cuts efficiently around obstacles. For bed prep and small turf areas, the Earthquake Versa front-tine tiller breaks up compacted soil.
Concrete for Hardscape Bases and Footings. Even landscape jobs need concrete sometimes — for retaining wall footings, pillar bases, or outdoor kitchen pads. The Canycom Track Buggy moves concrete, gravel, and soil where wheelbarrows cannot. Mix small batches with the Kushlan 3.5 cu ft electric mixer or larger batches with the Essick Mortar Mixer EM90SH8.
Hauling and Material Movement. Our 14 ft Commercial Grade Dump Trailer loads with a skid steer and dumps with a hydraulic hoist. Tilt-deck equipment trailers (6×12, 6.5×22, and 8.5×22) haul your machines between job sites.
Seasonal flexibility without seasonal capital. You do not need to own an aerator that runs hard for six weeks a year and sits in storage for ten months. Rent it the weeks you need it, pay only for the use, and we maintain it between rentals. The same logic applies to stump grinders, sod cutters, trenchers, and big mini skids.
Tracked equipment that respects turf. Our mini skid steers, stump grinder, and concrete buggy are tracked to leave minimal damage on lawns you want to come back to. That matters when your reputation depends on the customer being just as happy with the lawn around the work as with the work itself.
Brands your crews trust. Ditch Witch, Vermeer, Turfco, John Deere, Hilti. We carry the equipment your operators already know how to run, which means less downtime training new hands and less surprise on the job site.
Weekly and monthly rates that price right. Multi-week installs, ongoing maintenance contracts, and seasonal projects benefit from our weekly and monthly rental rates. Call for a custom quote on equipment you need for multiple weeks.
The first rental requires a valid photo ID and 50% deposit. Bring or email your Certificate of Liability Insurance to hello@rentaceqc.com and you save 10% on every rental going forward. After that, we keep your business on file and most rentals can be reserved with a phone call. Pick up at our Bettendorf shop or ask about job-site delivery — see Delivery & Pickup for area coverage.
For projects that span multiple days, the 24-hour rental is the standard pricing tier. For week-long installs and seasonal renovations, ask about our weekly rates. Need equipment for the weekend only? Our Weekend Special lets you pick up Friday after noon and return Monday morning at the one-day rate — perfect for residential install crews working Saturday and Sunday.
Our landscape customers work throughout the Quad Cities and surrounding region. We deliver to Bettendorf, Davenport, Moline, Rock Island, East Moline, LeClaire, Eldridge, Pleasant Valley, Riverdale, Silvis, Milan, Coal Valley, Hampton, Port Byron, Princeton, Long Grove, and surrounding QC communities. Most of our crew customers pick up their own equipment from our 3466 State Street Bettendorf shop to keep delivery costs out of the project.
Do you have multiple stand-on mini skids available at once? Yes, we stock multiple units across the lineup. For peak spring season, reserve ahead — equipment goes fast in April and May.
Can I rent attachments separately from the skid steer? Yes. If you own a skid steer, you can rent attachments à la carte. Most of our attachments fit standard universal mounting plates — see the attachments category for the full list.
What rental durations do you offer? Same Day (return by 4 PM closing), 24-hour, weekly, and monthly. See our FAQ page for details.
Do you stock bundles for common landscape jobs? Yes. Mini skid steer + auger, mini skid + trailer, aerator + trailer, mower + trailer — see our bundle pricing for combos that save you money.
Landscape contractor work in eastern Iowa and western Illinois runs on a tight seasonal calendar. March–April: Sod cutter and tiller season as crews prep for early installs. Aerator demand starts building. Spring cleanup pulls our mowers and grapple buckets. May: Peak aeration. We see crews running aerators back-to-back from sunrise to sunset. Reserve the Commercial Z Turf Aerator weeks ahead — it is our most-requested spring rental. June–July: Hardscape install season. Mini skid steers, plate compactors, augers, and concrete buggies stay busy with paver patio jobs, retaining walls, and outdoor kitchen pads. August: Drainage and lighting projects as homeowners notice problem spots. The Ditch Witch C24x trencher runs constantly. September–October: Fall lawn renovation peaks — aerator + overseeder + compost spreader bundles are the priority. Stump removal projects pick up as homeowners plan ahead for winter. November: Final cleanups, leaf removal, and any remaining hardscape that needs to wrap before frost. December–February: Slow season, but tree removal, snow operations, and indoor work continue. Many landscape companies use winter to maintain equipment, do training, and tackle small repair projects on rented mini skids.
The biggest question we field from landscape crews is which mini skid to pick. Here is a quick guide based on what we have seen work in the Quad Cities market: CTX50: The lightest option in our fleet, ideal for delicate turf and small access points. Good for crews running residential service routes. SK900 and SK900 with weight kit: A great all-around residential machine. The weight kit version gives more bucket capacity and lift, which matters when moving paver pallets, soil, or boulders. SK1000: The newest member of the fleet — slightly more capacity than the SK900 in the same compact footprint. SK1550 (w/ weight kit): Heavier-duty unit for serious hardscape installation. Handles bigger pallets, more aggressive grading, and longer days. SK3000: Our largest stand-on. Built for crews that need full skid-steer-class power but still want to fit through a 36-inch gate.
Not sure which fits your project? Tell us about the job — the access width, the material weight, the duration — and we will recommend the right machine.
The same mini skid can do completely different jobs depending on what is on the front. Our attachment library includes options that pair well with all of our mini skid steers. The Mini Skid Auger drills tree holes, fence posts, and footings. The 72-inch Harley Rake preps grade so smooth that you can sod or seed right behind it — saves a full step on lawn install jobs. The Grapple Bucket handles brush piles, large material, and rocks that a standard bucket cannot. The Rotary Cutter/Brush Hog Mower clears overgrown lots before install — particularly useful on commercial properties that have sat unused.
Outdoor living spaces — patios, kitchens, fire pits, retaining walls — make up a growing share of high-margin landscape work in the Quad Cities. The equipment looks different than turf-focused work. For paver and patio bases: Wacker Neuson plate compactor compacts each layer of gravel base. For retaining walls and footings: Kushlan electric mixer for batch mixing footing concrete; Canycom Track Buggy for moving mix where wheelbarrows fail; Hilti cordless concrete vibrator for consolidating poured concrete. For tree wells and large plant installations: Full Size Skid Auger or the smaller Mini Skid Auger drills clean planting holes faster than hand-digging. For boulder placement: Grapple Bucket grips and places stones up to its capacity.
