Yes, with caveats. Our Genie GS-1930, GS-2632, and GS-3246 scissor lifts are designed for use indoors and on smooth, paved, level outdoor surfaces like driveways, sidewalks, and parking lots. They are electric and produce zero emissions, which makes them ideal for noise-sensitive or enclosed environments.
What scissor lifts cannot do outdoors: They cannot operate on uneven or soft ground (mud, grass, gravel), they cannot drive up significant slopes, and they have weight limits that exclude many outdoor construction surfaces. Wind also limits outdoor scissor lift use — most have a maximum allowable wind speed in their operating manual.
If your project is outdoors on dirt, grass, gravel, or uneven ground, you want a towable boom lift instead — our Haulotte 35ft, 45ft, or 55ft units. They tow with a standard 2-inch hitch, set up with outriggers on uneven ground, and reach much higher than any scissor lift. Call (563) 271-4732 for a recommendation.
