Pneumatic tools have a required CFM (cubic feet per minute) rating. Add up the CFM of all tools you plan to run simultaneously, then choose a compressor that exceeds that total by 20-30% for headroom.

The 185 CFM Air Compressor is our standard towable rental and handles most contractor pneumatic loads:

• Single jackhammer or chipping hammer: Typically 30-90 CFM — well within 185 CFM
• Sandblasting: Varies widely — verify your blast cabinet or pot CFM rating
• Multiple impact wrenches, nailers, or air tools running together: 185 CFM accommodates several smaller tools at once
• Concrete vibrators, paving breakers, post drivers: Larger draws — typically still within 185 CFM for one or two tools
